20 Lessons from 2020

2020 has been an unforgettable year, causing most of us to agree that 2021 can’t get here soon enough.  But before we bid 2020 adieu, I stopped to reflect on some valuable lessons that I learned this past year.

20 Lessons from 2020:

  1. Set up an emergency fund.
  2. Be sure to wear pants to those virtual meetings from home.
  3. Keep your pantry stocked, like every day is a snowstorm.
  4. Don’t panic when the market drops.
  5. Cherish time with your friends and family.
  6. Don’t wait until you’re down to 1 roll to buy more toilet paper.
  7. The term “social distancing” was added to the dictionary.
  8. Embrace new technology to communicate with others.
  9. Be patient with those struggling with said new technology.
  10. Dust off those cookbooks and try a new recipe.
  11. Game night doesn’t use up all your monthly data, but those virtual meetings, classes, and binge watching can.
  12. Stop reading the toxic posts on social media; it will only bring you down.
  13. You can never have too many frozen pizzas.
  14. You can never have too much data on your home internet plan.
  15. Stick to your investment strategy.
  16. Who knew designer labels would create fashionable face masks?
  17. Check on your elderly neighbors.
  18. Those COVID-19 pounds are hard to lose.
  19. Online shopping addiction is a real thing.
  20. Pandemic + Election year = Unprecedented crazy

We all experienced many new, surprising, and often frustrating things this past year, some that we never thought we would see or do.  While this list has a few good financial tips sprinkled in, its real intention is to make you smile and remember that we’ll get through this together.
